Andalusia, Liquor, and Tradition
Our series on traditional liquors from the various autonomous communities of Spain returns. You already know the most famous spirits from the Valencian Community, Galicia, Catalonia, Madrid, and the Canary Islands. Now it’s time to discover Andalusia’s standout liquors.
Andalusia is famed for its dishes such as salmorejo, espetos, and pescaíto frito, renowned globally. Accompanying its delicious gastronomy are traditional spirits from southern Spain, also internationally recognized.
At Vitroval, as specialists in glass bottles for liquors, we offer an extensive catalog for bottling all typical liquors from Andalusia.
Sweet Anise
This highly popular liquor, traditional in various parts of Spain, is produced by distilling anise seeds in traditional copper stills. Combined with an alcohol and sugar solution, these seeds produce the famous sweet anise. Strong yet sweet, it is primarily produced in Seville and Córdoba, though it is spreading throughout the region.
Like Valencian cazalla, anise is versatile and can be enjoyed at any time, either to stimulate appetite before a meal or to aid digestion after dessert. It’s always bottled in high-quality glass bottles like those in our catalog.
Lemon Liquor
Originating from Almería, lemon liquor is crafted from locally grown lemons. Similar to Italian limoncello but with lower alcohol content and less sugar, its citrusy and fruity flavor offers unique freshness. Typically served very cold, it makes an excellent digestive drink after a large meal.
Tocino de cielo
Increasingly recognized nationwide, tocino de cielo is a spirit from Cádiz. It combines traditional Brandy de Jerez with tocino de cielo essences. Specifically, the brandy ages in cellars with caramel and toasted egg yolk essences.
This Andalusian liquor boasts a smooth, sweet taste reminiscent of the dessert it is named after. Some of our glass liquor bottles are ideal for packaging this type of spirit.
Brandy de Jerez
Brandy de Jerez is one of Andalusia’s most famous liquors, exclusively produced in the province of Jerez through wine distillation. With a history spanning several centuries, it is deeply rooted in tradition. Brandy de Jerez stands out from other brandies due to its production process, the quality of its raw materials, and the unique local climate. This spirit maintains a hint of wine flavor with a significantly sweeter finish and can be enjoyed neat or mixed in delicious cocktails.
Our catalog includes glass bottles suitable for all typical Andalusian liquors. As specialists in these types of containers, we understand the specific requirements for each spirit on the market. Feel free to browse our online catalog and contact our sales team.
